Bengaluru, August 31: The Indian Test squad is toiling hard in England to level the series 2-all but the focus will shift to Mumbai where the Indian nation team selectors will assemble to pick the squad for the Asia Cup 2018 that is scheduled to begin from September 15.
All eyes will be on Karnataka star players Manish Pandey and Mayank Agarwal, who have consistently performed for the India ‘A’ teams in various formats in recent months.
9 innings, 8 not outs
For India ‘A’ and India ‘B’, Pandey has remained unbeaten in eight innings out of nine limited overs matches. He has scored one century and five fifties with a total of 613 runs. In the recently concluded Quadrangular Series, Pandey’ scores look like 95*, 21*, 117* and 73*. In the final of the series, the Bengaluru lad hammered 54-ball 73 in the title clash to emerge triumphant.
3000+ runs, 13 tons!
Mayank has shown his ability to adapt to all formats of the game. He already missed out on a spot in the national squad at the ongoing Test series in England. Since 2017-18 season, Mayank has not just kept the scorers busy but also the statisticians. The aggressive opener scored eight centuries amassing 2141 runs. For the India ‘A’, Mayank has one double century and five centuries under his belt. So, a total of 3000 plus runs and he not just deserves a chance but has earned it.
