Goals from Gurjant Singh (19’), Chinglensana Singh Kangujam (44’) and Dilpreet Singh (55’) secured India’s place in the title clash

Muscat (Oman), October 28: Defending champions India secured their passage through to the final of the 5th men’s Asian Champions Trophy hockey as they defeated Japan 3-2 in their Semi-Final match of the competition held here at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex on Saturday.

The World No. 5 team faced tough competition from the Japanese team but held their nerve to score three goals via Gurjant Singh (19’), Chinglensana Singh Kangujam (44’) and Dilpreet Singh (55’); while Hirotaka Wakuri (22’) and Hirotaka Zendana (56’) scored for Japan in a fierce encounter.

India will play the title clash against arch-rivals Pakistan on 28th October 2018 at 22.40 IST.

Matches will be telecasted live on Star Sports 2, Star Sports HD 2 and Hotstar.
