Jakarta, August 27: India’s ace shuttler PV Sindhu stormed into the summit clash while fellow shuttler Saina Nehwal settled for a bronze in the women’s singles badminton event at the Asian Games here on Monday.

Sindhu has become the first Indian to reach the final after beating Akane Yamaguchi of Japan 21-17, 15-21, 21-10.

Earlier, Saina suffered a straight games defeat to Chinese Taipei’s Tai Tzu Ying 17-21, 14-21. The bronze ended India’s 36-year drought for a medal in the singles event at the continental tournament.
