Indian Premier League: Is Cariappa making a comeback?

Bengaluru, March 17: KC Cariappa last donned the Kolkata Knight Riders colour four summers ago and it is likely the Kodava lad may return for the upcoming season which is a few days away.

Following this remarkable performance in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20, the KKR kept an eagle eye on Cariappa’s contribution’s in Karnataka title-winning run.

In 11 matches, Cariappa took 10 wickets with best bowling figures of 4/15. His economy rate – 5.02 — too was impressive.

He has been summoned by the franchise for the camp that began on Saturday.

Earlier at the auctions, Cariappa went unsold. But four years ago, Cariappa with a base price of INR 10 lakh, was picked up by KKR for a whopping INR 2.4 crore, following a fierce bidding war with Delhi Daredevils.

Looks like the mystery spinner will again be part of the Shah Rukh Khan-owned outfit for the forthcoming season.
