Indian Premier League: RCB’s Dale Steyn out with shoulder injury

Bengaluru, April 25: Having made an immediate impact after his arrival to the struggling Royal Challengers Bangalore side, South African spearhead has suffered a serious shoulder injury.

“Dale Steyn has been prescribed with ample rest due to inflammation in his shoulder. On account of state of his health, Dale will not be available to take part further in the ongoing season of IPL,” said Sanjeev Churiwala, Chairman of Royal Challengers Bangalore.

He further added, “His presence has helped the team immensely and we are very thankful for the inspiration and passion that he brought to the squad. The team will deeply miss his energy and presence around. We wish him a speedy recovery and all the luck for all future endeavours.”

The ICC Cricket World Cup is just a just a month away.  

Steyn is in the South Africa’s preliminary 15-man squad, suffered a flare-up of his right shoulder during RCB’s match against Chennai Super Kings on Sunday.
