Former Karnataka coach and captain J Arun Kumar is currently in the United States to pen down a lucrative contract as the next national team coach.
The former Karnataka and Goa batsman, Arun Kumar, who guided his home state Karnataka to double trebles – Vijay Hazare, Ranji Trophy and Irani Trophy – from 2013-15, is on the verge of finalizing a deal to coach the United States of America cricket team.

Arun Kumar told The Times of India recently, “Yes, I’m currently in the US, but won’t be able to offer much in terms of information, till formalities including the visa is completed.”
However, USA Cricket released a press statement, “The recruitment process for the next men’s head coach is nearing completion. Following an exhaustive search that has uncovered a number of outstanding candidates, the preferred candidate, former first-class, IPL player and coach, J Arunkumar, has been invited to the USA to meet with USA Cricket officials for further discussions about the potential for him to assume a permanent position with USA Cricket. As part of that invitation and process, Mr Arunkumar will also be invited to meet support staff and players and to observe at the upcoming Talent Camp in Houston as well as at the ODI series in Fort Lauderdale.”
