Bengaluru: In the upcoming Indian Premier League season, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will field a new look. Not with Virat Kohli or the other star players but the coaching staff is more likely to get replaced.
With the big names in the line-up, RCB failed to make the last four in the recently completed season.
According to the reports filed by ‘The Mirror’, the Diageo management which owns the RCB franchise, will sack head coach Daniel Vettori (New Zealand), batting and fielding coach Trent Woodhill (Australia) and bowling coach Andrew McDonald (Australia).
Indian skipper Kohli will continue along with the bowling mentor Ashish Nehra. Amrit Thomas will be replaced by Sanjeev Churiwala for the forthcoming season.
Meanwhile, the new group of coaching staff is expected to be announced by next week. It is believed that India’s World Cup-winning coach Gary Kirsten is the frontrunner for the top job.
