Mayank Agarwal effort in vain, Australia ‘A’ wins

Bengaluru, September 5: Avenging their Quadrangular Series loss to India ‘B’ recently in the final, left-arm spinner Jon Holland’s six-wicket haul engineered Australia ‘A’ to win the first unofficial Test match by 163 runs against India ‘A’ here at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday.

Resuming at 63 for two, the hosts added just 100 runs to their tally on the fourth day after a middle-order collapse. In-form opener Mayank Agarwal stood amid ruins scoring 80 while Ankit Bawane made 25 before India ‘A’ were bowled out for 163.

Brief scores: KSCA (T) (Day 4): Australia “A”: 243 all out in 75.3 overs and 2nd Innings: 292 all out in 83.5 overs beat India “A”: 274 all out in 83. 1 overs and 2nd Innings: 163 all out in 59.3 over (Mayank Agarwal 80, AR Bawane 25, Jon Holland 6/81) by 98 runs.
