London, September 11: In the fifth and final Test at the Kennington Oval on Tuesday, KL Rahul scored his fifth Test century against a dominant England at the Oval here. This is Rahul’s his first century of the five-match series.
With this entertaining ton, he kept India’s hopes alive even though the Virat Kohli-led side have already lost the series 1-3. The Karnataka batsman Rahul hammered an unbeaten 108 off 126 balls that included 17 boundaries and a six off Ben Stokes.
The 26-year old becomes just the third opener to score a hundred in the fourth innings of a Test match after Sunil Gavaskar and Shikhar Dhawan.
Fabulous century, full of bold, even audacious shots, from KL Rahul. Maybe this style is indeed the way ahead for him.

Der se aaye, lekin durust aaye.
This innings has reinforced the point that Rahul has the skills…just needs to be consistent. Well played, KL 👏👌🙌 #EngvInd

Kl Rahul's muted celebrations was a sign of the deficit between the expectations n performance in this series. Irrespective, a superb knock and also the reason why he's special and needs to be persisted with #ENGvIND https://t.co/S6v9HEuefM
