Ranji Trophy: Robin returns to Saurashtra

Bengaluru, September 11: Karnataka’s experienced batsman Robin Uthappa will return to Saurashtra for the upcoming domestic season, starting next month.

Having signed a year-long contract with Saurashtra last year, Robin has again penned a new deal.  “For the upcoming domestic season, I will again play for Saurashtra,” confirmed Robin.

Few weeks ago, sources closed to the player claimed that the Kodava was eager to represent his home state. The 32-year-old Robin didn’t played in the previous Karnataka Premier League but made a comeback to lead Bengaluru Blasters in the seventh season of the T20 tournament.

Under his captaincy, Blasters recorded six convincing victories in the seven-team league before losing to Bijapur Bulls in the title clash.

In the last edition of Ranji Trophy, the former India cricketer Robin scored 326 runs that include three fifties at an average of 40.62 in nine innings.
