Ranji Trophy: Ronit More five-for rattles Chhattisgarh

Bengaluru, January 1: Karnataka pacer Ronit More continued his blistering form with the ball in the Ranji Trophy to claim his second five-wicket haul of the season as Chhattisgarh were bowled out for 283 on the third day, here on Tuesday.

The Belagavi quickie More took 5/48 to help Karnataka gain first innings lead points at the Alur ground. With a 135-run lead, Karnataka were 113/4 at close of play. Skipper Manish Pandey (57 batting) and Shreyas Gopal (21 batting) were in the middle to give the hosts an overall lead of 248.

Earlier in the day, Chhattigarh on overnight 121/3, were guided by their captain Harpreet Singh (120, 239b, 17×4) in chase of the huge total. The visitors’ middle-order worked on small partnerships but More and fellow fast-bowler Abhimanyu Mithun (4/64) struck from both the ends.
