Bengaluru, October 31: With a focus on promoting youngsters, the Karnataka State Cricket Association announced the senior state T20 squad for the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
For the defending champions Karnataka, middle-order batsman Karun Nair, who played a minor role in the recently-concluded triumphant Vijay Hazare Trophy campaign, has been named skipper of the squad that bears a new look.
With senior star players busy with national duty, a bunch of top-performing cricketers from the KPL have found a spot in the line-up. The announced team is for the first three matches to be played from 8th to 17th November at Vishakhapatnam.
Last season, Karnataka who beat Maharashtra in the final, set a new record winning thirteen consecutive T20 matches.
