Having prize money too is a very good incentive and even for us senior swimmers, we are always looking for an opportunity to race so I am quite excited about this,” stated Srihari Nataraj.
Speaking about hosting the first edition of Nettakallappa Memorial Swimming Championship, Mrs Sujatha Tilak Kumar said, “We have always taken a keen interest in promoting swimming and in that pursuit, we wanted to host this state-level championship. This will be an annual event starting from this year and it is our endeavour to provide a competitive platform for swimmers across the state and encourage more children to take up the sport. We are overwhelmed to receive more than 250 entries in the very first year.”
